With the threat of showers at any minute, Pheebs and I headed into Bayfield instead of out to our walking spot. With boats being lifted out of the water daily now in the harbor area it won’t be long before the river barge with its front-end loader/digger tractor machine aboard will begin removing the boat slips and stacking them up on shore for the winter.

THIS COUPLE IS BACKING THEIR BOAT OUT INTO THH RIVER IN PREPARATION FOR TAKING IT A FEW HUNDRED YARDS TO THE LIFTING DEVICE WHICH WILL LIFT THEIR BOAT OUT OF THE WATER

AND THERE THEY GO FOR THE LAST SHORT TRIP OF THE SEASON
Checking on Bayfield’s Main Street construction I noticed they were pouring concrete sidewalks on the street’s west side this morning. Took a spin around Clan Gregor Square snapping a few more of Autumn’s pretty colors.

Wanting to at least get in some kind of a walk we headed for Bayfield’s Cemetery where we were able to get in a few steps before it began drizzling again. Not the nicest morning with the air feeling cold and damp. In our traveling days, we would often be just days away from heading to the southwest for the winter. It’s best I don’t think about those days anymore:((

Home again, I turned our sunroom’s gas stove up to ward off the chills. Edited the day’s photos, cleaned some inside windows, blew all the leaves off the front porch with the blower, then came inside and plopped myself into my recliner with my Kindle reader. The day’s cold rain turned turned into an even colder sleet for awhile about 2:30 this afternoon. Can snowy days be far behind!! And there went another day in the life and times of us guys.

The police recently arrested a man selling “secret formula” tablets he claimed gave eternal youth. When going through their files they noticed it was the fifth time he was caught committing this same criminal medical fraud. He had earlier been arrested in 1794, 1856, 1928, and 1983!!
