That’s what I need it for.
IMO Better to charge it DC than AC for longer Jackery battery life
With the 100 W solar panel, on a sunny day, it can last a long long time for my use.

I bought this to unable me to remote camp for long periods of time.
Using a 12 volt adapter I can run my CPAP machine 5 -10 hour nights/out recharging. I can recharge in a day with the 100wt solar panel I also purchased.

I work law enforcement and am often out the southwest desert for way more hours than anticipated, I bought a heating luch box for my truck, but it would blow fuses when plugged in to the factory 12 volt outlet. Since I had the Jackery I thought it I would try it out for this purpose also. It works flawlessly. The heater will heat up to 300 degrees and actually cook food rather than just heat it up. Using the Jackery 500 the charge will drop to about 15% for an hour of cooking. Way better than I expected! I thought that the draw might be too much for the unit, but I was lpeasantly surprised. Really opens up the options for food out in the field. I might need to purchase a new Jackery 1000 in the future to use hunting and overlanding and keep my current Jackery 500 for use in my work truck.
I highly recommend the Jackery line of products they are really well built and the work better than expected. I will be a forever customer.

I’ve attached a picture of this unit powering my pellet grill. 5 stars for providing power to the best smoked pork butt I’ve ever cooked. As seen in the picture, 78% remaining capacity. That was the next day folks. I started the smoking at 1AM and picture was taken around noon cooking through the stall (171 deg). Grill maintained around 225 temp. I don’t have to worry about my power grid going down while smoking meats overnight and cooking past 14 hours. This was the first pork butt I’ve cooked without cheating by wrapping it in butcher paper or foil. It turned out fantastic!
# Pros
– Reliable (when fully charged). Provides power without any hiccups for over a dozen hours
– Light weight compared to lead acid. Capacity is impressive considering it’s size and weight
– 2 years later and still working great
– Solar charging works as advertised (wish mine had MPPT!)
– Used exclusively with my pellet grills (Asmoke AS300 & AS500) and it performs
# Cons
– None.
The advertising and marketing claims are honest and hold true. Most battery manufacturers always overpromise and underdeliver. The only regret I have is that I should have waited for the MPPT version!

I’ve had this Jackery 500 for 2 years now and I’m pleased with how reliable this power bank has been. My area always loses power and this has come through several times with the covid WFH situation. It’s been a game changer when camping in 30 degree weather paired with a low wattage personal heater. This power bank has seen many different uses. From powering my home office workstation, camping, emergencies, and cooking with my Asmoke pellet grills, it’s been through a lot.

Was at about 50% charge out of the box. Charged from wall outlet to 100% in about 6 hours, then unplugged it. 12 hours later, it was still at 100%. Ran overnight (8 hrs) with cpap and phone plugged in, had 91% remaining. This is our main purpose for this device… running cpap and phone charging during power outage.
Notes: the cpap is a Resmed AirMini, plugged in via the Resmed AirMini DC converter. There are several youtube videos explaining why to use dc converter, and there are cheaper converters, but I chose the name brand one, got it at cpap.com.
Everything worked as expected, i plan to run with this once a week and recharge, just to keep an eye on it and make sure it holds a charge for emergencies.

First of all.. fedex tracking showed it was delivered, but we did not receive it. Filed complaint with fedex, they created a case and said they would investigate. Called jackery customer service… they said they will work with fedex on the missing package, but in the meantime said they would send a new package. Got it four days later. There are alot of negative reviews, but that’s good customer service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powers a variety of equipment
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2021
Lost power this morning from a bad thunder storm. Plugged in internet router, cable box and 65″ TV. Powered all 3 for 2 hours ’til the power came back. Power level went from 94% to 71% in that time. I estimate I could run all 3 for 5 1\2 to 6 hours total. If I’d used a smaller tv I expect I’d get over 7 hours. Very very happy with this device. Worked how I wanted when I wanted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Features
Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2021
This unit has worked really well for me to have the power I need on camping trips to charge up phones and to power some lights. I’ve been using some 100w solar panels to keep it charged and the whole system works flawlessly. I especially like the fact that I can use the power station while charging it with the solar panels. I believe some competitors’ products don’t allow simultaneous charging/discharging. The display on this power station gives straightforward status of what’s going on. It seems rugged and durable, but I suppose only time will tell with that. It’s a comfort to know that we have a source of some power in the event that a storm or other event knocks out the electricity to our home. The only time I’ve run into any kind of limitation with this power station was when I tried to plug in a large reciprocating saw to cut some metal posts in a remote location. The amperage draw exceeded what the power station could provide. But I was impressed even in that situation that the power station had the smarts to shut itself off after a couple seconds rather than me breaking something because I hadn’t first confirmed that the tool would draw too many amps. All-in-all I’ve been very pleased with the purchase.

My Jackery arrived on Aug 11. That evening I topped it up from a 41% charge to 100%, then disconnected it, and it’s held a full charge ever since. I love that so much that occasionally I poke the button to turn on the lcd screen just to so I can do a little jig when that 100% lights up. lol
I wanted to wait till I got to actually use it to offer a fuller review, but today I received an unexpected package from Jackery in the mail: a backpack which might be for holding solar panels? I didn’t get any panels and I don’t see the backpack included with the Jackery so I’m not sure why this was sent to me…not that I’m complaining. I only hope they won’t want it back because I’ll never get it folded down and zippered up into a neat little pouch again! 😉
Pros:
It’s compact and easy to lift at only 13 lbs
Doesn’t need to be constantly drip-charged
Much easier and safer for my storm prep powering needs than a deep cycle battery (live and learn)
Holds a charge like a boss
The addition of a powerful built-in led light gives me another lighting option when the power goes out.
Cons: not one, at least not yet. If I run into any I’ll update this review.

After fussing with keeping a practically immovable 60lb deep cycle battery charged for use during hurricane season, I finally caved and bought the Jackery. Sometimes it’s worth investing more for peace of mind, and that’s definitely the case here. It’s a relief knowing I have a reliable power source for our storm shelter during a hurricane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Investment for Traveling / Great Customer Support!
Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2022
I purchased my original Jackery Explorer 500 in March of 2021 because we travel quite a bit. I took it out of the box and we hit the road. It worked fabulously for our needs. Our teenager was able to use the laptop and video games while we drove. Also kept lights on and charged fans and coolers for a week at a time on the go. Only after having in nearly a month did we figure out the USB ports were not functioning. Then the teenager tells me that she noticed it straight out of the box but didn’t say anything!!! Grr! Teenagers! I contacted Jackery support by email and through correspondence with them, I was able to send them the info about the issue and even a video so they could see the issue. They had no trouble making good on the warranty! I shipped the one I had back to them expecting them to just switch out the ports, but they just sent me a new one instead. The first thing I did after taking it out of the box was to try all of the ports myself and make sure they were all working! I am in LOVE with my Jackery and will be adding the optional 100W solar saga solar panel to the van this year! This is a great investment and I strongly recommend the product and the company!

I plugged it in to recharge and it is back at 100% waiting for our next camping trip or power outage.
I wish we bought this sooner.

I am just now coming back to write this review because of a recent outage that had me pulling this out of storage in our closet. I was worried it would not be charged after the long lay off and was frustrated with myself for not checking it more regularly only to find it was in perfect shape — fully charged.

I did my research and made sure I purchased one with enough power to do the things I anticipated needing to do in a power outage: run the internet, charge our laptops/phones, lighting, and use a heating blanket or fan depending on the weather conditions. I also wanted to be able to recharge it in the event of long outages. We elected not to get the solar panels since we live in the woods and it comes with a way to charge it with our cars so that is added security.
Since making this purchase we have lost power a couple times. Each time was for about an hour during working hours and we ran our internet flawlessly! The power came back up before needing to charge the laptops but having used barely any of its juice I have no doubt we would have been fine for several more hours even with using it for other things.
It is nice to know that we have the ability to keep going with our day to day things until power comes back on!

On the Upside – charges very quickly via AC wall adapter. And was still at 43 percent after 13 hours continued use. It kept a constant charge on my Iphone, a Table-top Lamp and I utilized the built-in flashlight. Downside… other products available more powerful wattage for the same price. For the Same price I saw (too late] a 1600W power sta. charger – – this one has lithium powered cell and I’d rather have this vs gas-powered fuel – – making it easier to Operate more safely to carry from Rm to Rm inside.
